Wondering How To Get Fitness Results?
As an Austin personal trainer for over 20 years and a gym owner for over 8 now, I can assure you I’ve seen my share of fitness results success stories, excuses, rationalizations, triumphs, aborted goals, etc, etc. Like most people, when we set out to accomplish anything, we usually have a defined goal, or at least an approximation, and some semblance of a game plan. Once we put the wheels in motion, so to speak, there are a number of things that can derail even the best of intentions.
One of the most common causes of failure in achieving fitness results, is the rationalization that it’s ok to be lax on your nutrition now that you’re exercising more than you did previously. This is obviously flawed logic and will quickly put an end to any and all progress you have thus far achieved. Another cause is frustration. If your goals are too lofty and unachievable in the short term, then it’s very easy to get discouraged, and scrap the whole project before you’ve even given yourself a chance to succeed. Goals need to be achievable, and there also need to be long term as well as short term goals which you can check off as you achieve them, thus building not only momentum, but confidence and a sense of accomplishment as well.
Obviously, there are many other ways we can lead ourselves to fail, in any field or endeavor in which we partake, be it with fitness results, or trying to get ahead in the workplace. Fitness results are never guaranteed. The important thing, however, is to not allow failure to happen. If there’s a good reason to quit, there are likely many more compelling reasons not to. Ultimately, as within any realm, your success and the scope of your results is largely up to you. If you really want to succeed badly enough, you’ll consistently do the work, even when it doesn’t sound like a fun or convenient idea. Through consistency and optimum effort, you will find your fitness results.
