Are You Wondering How Long Does it Take to get in Shape?
As a personal trainer in Austin for over 20 years, I get asked a lot of fitness, nutrition, as well as, of course, exercise questions, and rather frequently. People ask me how much protein they should be consuming, how many reps or sets, and of which particular exercises they need to be doing in order to achieve their goals, and so on. Most all of the questions I field are questions that truthfully can’t be given an honest and intelligent answer to, as everything depends upon upon many, many factors, including genetics, including the biggest question of all, how long does it take to get in shape?
How long does it take to get in shape is not a question I can give any kind of a serious response to other than to simply say, that it depends upon your level of motivation, commitment, nutrition, work ethic, and last but not least, your genetics. Even if a client who I have been working with, and know, is to ask me how long does it take to get in shape, I can only give a marginally better answer. When I know much more about the person asking the question, I can naturally provide a better informed answer, but seeing how I cannot control whether the person asking the question is going to train, eat, etc, etc, I have no real way of knowing.
Instead of asking me, or even yourself, how long does it take to get in shape, you would be better of taking the energy required for that same cognitive thought process, and spend it drawing up a plan as to how you are going to achieve your fitness goals. What kind of eating habits are you going to need to employ? How many times per week will you be working out? Will you be employing a qualified personal trainer? Will this goal be a priority with you or will it be something that ends up by the wayside before you ever even got going? These are all serious questions that need to be answered by you, as you are truly the only person who can answer them. Ultimately, when you figure out the answers to the above questions, you not only will have a better idea of how long does it take to get in shape, but you’ll also be well on your way to getting there.
